About Us
Remsen has lake access to both Hinckley Reservoir and Kayuta Lake and its northern border is the Black River with the Cincinnati Creek entering town north of the Village of Remsen and passing through the village as it continues southward the West Canada Creek.
Remsen is predominantly a residential community and in recent years has become a popular place for second and seasonal homes for many people seeking a tranquil place to be and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Additionally, Remsen is a great place to raise a family and has an excellent school, Remsen Central School. Graduates have left Remsen Central prepared for life and success, with many excelling to leave their mark on the nation and the world.
Our Community
One of Remsen’s greatest assets is its people. Remsen residents are proud of their community and history and work hard to staff and maintain many community organizations. These organizations include the Remsen Barn Festival Committee, Remsen/Steuben Historical Society, Remsen Volunteer Fire Company, Remsen Development Corporation, Remsen VFW, and many Remsen Central School affiliated groups.
Remsen is centrally located, and you can easily access the Adirondacks, St. Lawrence River, Lake Ontario and many regional and state attractions within a short drive. Remsen is a great place to live, raise a family, be part of the community and relax. You are welcome to come and join us.
