The Town of Remsen received a 75/25% match grant in the amount of $142,188 through Round 14 of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Water Quality Improvement Program (WQIP) funding. A 72′ x 100′ Calhoun Super Structures Salt Storage Building was provided and constructed by Hybrid Building Solutions, LLC.
The Water Quality Improvement Project (WQIP) program is a competitive, statewide reimbursement grant program open to local governments and not-for-profit corporations for implementation projects that directly address documented water quality impairments or protect a drinking water source. Applications are typically available each spring through the Consolidated Funding Application.
The grant application was prepared with the assistance of NOCCOG, in cooperation with the New York State Tug Hill Commission.
